Navigating Cosmic Tides & Embracing Oneness for Inner and Family Peace

February 25, 2025

This cosmic energy around us has been a doozy! You are not alone if you’ve been dealing with setbacks, confusion, or even health issues. The tension of these energies will begin to resolve, ushering in a new set of lessons. Sounds fun, doesn’t it?

It’s a cosmic shift that is pushing us into alignment with our higher selves and our purpose. Not everyone is open to this shift, and that’s okay. As I prepared this newsletter, I experienced a fog that momentarily blocked my connection to the message—but after a good night’s sleep and some energy work this morning, the fog lifted. This phenomenon may repeat in the coming weeks – we can get lost in the fog or take the time to recenter, refocus, clear the fog and continue our work.

This week’s cosmic shifts are stirring up retrograde energies and inviting us to find our center. Discover how to navigate these changes, embrace oneness, and nurture inner peace—for both you and your children. Read on for practical tips, inspiring metaphors, and ways to book personalized sessions!

Planetary Retrograde Energy:

We have retrograde energy affecting our daily lives in many ways. I explain this using the metaphor of swimming.

When a planet goes retrograde, it feels as if we’re swimming against the tide, and we fight the incoming tide a bit until we get past the breakers when we can swim more easily. This is what happens when we’re in a retrograde – the initial turbulence of the incoming tide can make this seem like a struggle. Once out in the water, we can hit our stride and sink into a reflective mood that brings awareness and the opportunity for balance, centering and redirection. We may not make external movement on land, but internally we have opportunities for shifts in our energy, mindsets, daily activities and more. We can pinpoint these opportunities by looking at our transit charts.

But as the planet moves out of retrograde and goes direct, we must come back to shore. We begin this shift back to shore and swim against our own current causing turbulence.  Energetically speaking, this disturbance can be based on how much “work” we did or didn’t do. As we shift gears and start to swim with the tide, things start to go more smoothly, especially as we pass the breakers, so much so that we can stop swimming and get carried along by the tide. Using the energetic shift, we start to see external movements in our work, our relationships, our health and overall life - again we pinpoint the areas with a transit chart / session.

Key Themes for This Week: Making Sense of It

Mars Retrograde Ended: Sunday, Feb. 23

Venus Retrograde Starts: Saturday, March 1

This week we have two major retrograde energies tapping us to energetically align with our higher self and our purpose. With Mars going direct and Venus entering retrograde, you might be experiencing a dynamic mix of push and pull. It’s as if we’re swimming back to shore after the Mars Retrograde and then being pushed back out to sea  with Venus going retrograde.

All this turbulence is happening with a Pisces New Moon. We can get caught up in the struggle of the energies, even pulled into an undertow, OR we can reconnect with our center, find our balance,  align with our inner rhythm and truth, and surrender to the metaphorical ocean (God/Source/Universe) trusting that we are supported and loved.

In addition, the planetary alignment that started at the beginning of the month is in full force with Mercury joining the line up. In fact, you can see this line up after sunset starting today and especially visible on Feb. 28th with the naked eye and binoculars! While this phenomenon occurs more often than we realize, it is still a powerful event, especially impacted by the Venus and Mars energy at this time. This article explains how best to see it and more: https://starwalk.space/en/news/what-is-planet-parade

Mars Direct & the Balancing of Action / IN-Action:

  •  Mars going direct signals an end to previous delays, yet its transit in Cancer may stir up conflicting energies—the motivation and will to move forward mixed the need for nurturing and self-care.

  •  In Taoism, this aligns with the  idea of Inaction is Wei wu wei: “Action through inaction”. It’s the idea of allowing things to flow naturally without force, trusting that everything will align as it should for the highest good.. If doubt and fear creep in, get still and quiet – sit with yourself, your breath and your heart, allowing love to overcome the fear.

Venus Retrograde & Relationships:

 With Venus retrograde, areas like self-worth, love, and partnerships might feel unsettled.

  • This phase encourages us to confront fears and hidden wounds that are holding us back while your purpose is calling you forward. Step into your purpose emotionally trusting that the Universe will show up for you externally when it is time.

  • Relationship challenges can lead to opportunities for growth. Step into the emotional waters with love and seek to understand the dynamics that lead to arguments.

Pisces New Moon – A Moment of Reflection:

  • To stabilize us in all this turbulence, the New Moon in Pisces can deepen our connection to God/Source/Universe and remind us of our inner spirituality.

  • Pisces is the most water sign of water signs, representing the Ocean. Think of this as an invitation float in the water - supported, weightless and still.

  • It invites you to pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your inner self, fostering clarity amid uncertainty to see the Truth rather than the illusions.

How to Navigate These Energies: Embracing Oneness & the Cosmic Dance

Finding balance amidst these shifting influences involves grounding practices that center your body, mind, and emotions. Techniques such as mindful breathing, meditation, and guided yoga Nidra help quiet external noise and reconnect you with your inner guide. By remaining in the present moment, you empower yourself to release past burdens and worries about the future.

Grounding Practices:

  • Mindful Breathing & Meditation: Techniques like guided yoga Nidra can quiet external noise and help you reconnect with your inner guide.

  • Present-Moment Awareness: Stay in the now to let go of past burdens and future

Embracing Oneness & the Cosmic Dance:

  • Step out of the illusions of separateness and remember: we are all One—connected by cosmic energy across time and space.

  • Every moment spent in love, awe, and acceptance shines light into the darkness, strengthening the cosmic web of connection.

  • By choosing love and forgiveness over fear and resistance, we tap into a deep reservoir of creativity and set a powerful example for ourselves and our children.

Supporting Children (and Ourselves): Cultivating Inner Calm

Our little ones are especially sensitive to these energies, and nurturing their inner peace is key to their growth. Here are some child-friendly (but still work with adults) practices inspired by Montessori practices and one of my mentors, Sonnie McFarland, American Montessori Society Living Legacy, and her peace curriculum: Honoring the Light of the Child: Activities to Nurture Peaceful Living Skills in Young Children)

Making Silence:

Finding time to make silence sacred is a life-long skill for peaceful living.

  • Walking the Line:

    •  Place a ribbon or a piece of yarn on the floor and encourage your child to walk along it in silence.

    • Once mastered, add fun variations like balancing a book on the head or matching breath to steps.

  • Focused Silence Activity:

    • Choose a focal point (a candle, water element, or Zen rock garden) and spend 5 minutes in silent, mindful focus.

    • This practice helps reset the energy and brings clarity to the mind.

Creating a Peaceful Space/ Peace Corner:

  • Designate a cozy corner for peaceful activity with soft lighting, cushions, and visual reminders of happy moments.

  • Include peaceful stories/books, breathing exercises, gentle movement (like yoga cards), or creative activities like coloring mandalas to support emotional balance.

Introducing the Love Light:

  • A bright, yellow felt circle (the Love Light) is placed on the heart when happy and peaceful. This can physically represent a child's inner state.

  • Encourage your child to wear their Love Light when feeling happy or to use it as a conversation starter when emotions run high.

  • This visible symbol becomes a tool for self-awareness and a gentle reminder to restore their inner glow through simple actions like deep breathing, getting a refreshing glass of water  or a comforting hug.

  A Personal Note

I want to share that this past week has been exceptionally challenging for me as well. I often get caught in worry and “what ifs,” but I’ve learned that retraining the mind starts with being conscious of our thoughts—shifting them with a breath, a prayer, or a moment of gratitude. Every moment offers a choice: to struggle or to step into the energy of love and forgiveness. Let’s embrace that choice together.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Embrace this week as an opportunity to reconnect with your inner self and nurture peaceful living—for you and your children. Remember, every moment is a chance to lead with love, let go of fear, and join in the cosmic dance of oneness.
Wishing you and your family a harmonious and insightful week.
Feel free to message me with any questions or share your experiences with these practices. I'm here to support you every step of your journey!
